Silke Deppmeyer, born in Hameln in 1970, has been Chief Executive Director of Internal Administration at the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht – BaFin) since 6 February 2023, an office which she had already held on an interim basis since November 2022. Prior to this, she had been interim Chief Executive Director responsible for Strategy, Policy and Control since April 2022.
Deppmeyer started her professional career in 2002 as Advisor in the Federal Banking Supervisory Office (BAKred) which shortly afterwards was transformed into BaFin. In 2010, she was appointed Personal Advisor to the Chief Executive Director of Regulatory Services/Human Resources. From 2013 until 2022, Deppmeyer held various management positions at BaFin, most recently serving as Head of the Transformation Management Office until October 2022.
Deppmeyer is a fully qualified lawyer and studied Law at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Prior to this, she completed an apprenticeship as a qualified bank officer (Bankkauffrau).
