Foreign supervisory authorities
Fully functional supervisory authorities are the hallmark of every financial centre around the world. However, the specific structures of individual supervisory authorities are very different.

Sometimes the supervisory authority is also part of the central bank. BaFin maintains close contacts with most supervisory authorities, building even further on these relationships through its membership of various international committees.
