Erscheinung:31.10.2011 ESMA publishes EU registrations of rating agencies

On Monday, 31 October 2011, ESMA announced the successful registrations of DBRS, Fitch Ratings, Moody’s Investor Service and Standard & Poor’s (S&P) as Credit Rating Agencies (CRAs). The new registrations are valid for all European entities of the specified rating agencies that issue ratings within the meaning of EU Regulation (EC) No 1060/2009 on credit rating agencies and have applied for registration. CRAs need to be registered in order to do business in the European Union.

ESMA has published a press release with details about the registrations, which also contains a list of the legal entities registered in the EU and current information on the endorsability of third-country credit ratings.

BaFin has updated its regularly published list of credit rating agencies registered in Germany accordingly.
