Erscheinung:03.11.2023 | Topic Unauthorised business, Consumer protection visioncapitalltd.com: BaFin investigates website operator and warns against identity theft

The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) warns consumers about the website visioncapitalltd.com. According to information available to BaFin, this site is being used to provide financial and investment services without the required authorisation. The unknown operator uses the name Vision Capital Limited. The website creates the impression that it is operated by Vision Capital LLP or Vision Capital Limited, companies registered with the British Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). This is not true. Therefore, this is a case of identity theft.

BaFin also has no information indicating a link between the website and a company of the same name licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

In the meantime, BaFin has become aware that the unknown operator is now also responsible for the completely identical website visionllp.org.

Anyone wishing to conduct banking business or provide financial or investment services in Germany may do so only with authorisation from BaFin. However, some companies offer these services without the necessary authorisation. Information on whether a particular company has been granted authorisation by BaFin can be found in BaFin’s database of companies.

The information provided by BaFin is based on section 37 (4) of the German Banking Act (KreditwesengesetzKWG).

Please be aware:

BaFin, the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BundeskriminalamtBKA) and the German state criminal police offices (Landeskriminalämter) recommend that consumers seeking to invest money online should exercise the utmost caution and do the necessary research beforehand in order to identify fraud attempts at an early stage.
