Erscheinung:23.07.2024 | Topic Unauthorised business, Consumer protection Crypto trading platforms: BaFin warns that tonarix.ai operators continue to conduct unauthorised business under different name

The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) has previously warned consumers about the series of platforms run by the operators of tonarix.ai. BaFin suspects the operators of this platform of offering consumers banking and financial services without the required authorisation. BaFin has now become aware of additional websites associated with the operators of tonarix.ai. They are conducting business under a different name.

On these newly discovered websites, the operators have simply changed the company logo and the name of the AI software they claim to have developed. Specifically, the newly discovered websites comprise:

  • finzoxai.com
  • 19zzbank.com
  • aibankax.com
  • 888gbank.com
  • banktgx.com
  • xbitoro.club
  • cccbankx.com

All these websites advertise the same financial service. Like tonarix.ai, these companies have received no authorisation from BaFin to conduct banking business and provide financial or investment services. BaFin continues to investigate the website operators.

Anyone wishing to conduct banking business or provide financial or investment services in Germany may do so only with authorisation from BaFin. However, some companies offer these services without the necessary authorisation. Information on whether a particular company has been granted authorisation by BaFin can be found in BaFin’s database of companies.

The information provided by BaFin is based on section 37 (4) of the German Banking Act (Kreditwesengesetz – KWG).

Please be aware:

BaFin, the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BundeskriminalamtBKA) and the German state criminal police offices (Landeskriminalämter) recommend that consumers seeking to invest money online should exercise the utmost caution and do the necessary research beforehand in order to identify fraud attempts at an early stage.
