Under the headline “Partners and co-operations” the operators of the websites show logos of various institutions they claim to be connected with. BaFin makes clear that the German Federal Ministry of Finance (Bundesministerium für Finanzen – BMF), the Deutsche Bundesbank, Deutsche Bank AG and the German savings banks have no connection whatsoever to the operators of these websites.

Anyone providing financial or investment services in Germany may do so only with authorisation from BaFin. However, some companies offer these services without the necessary authorisation. Information on whether a particular company has been granted authorisation by BaFin can be found in BaFin’s database of companies.

BaFin is issuing this warning on the basis of section 37 (4) of the German Banking Act (Kreditwesengesetz – KWG).
