The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) warns consumers about the services offered on the website kpi-ltd.co. According to information available to BaFin, banking business and/or financial services are being provided on this website without the required authorisation. The operators are not supervised by BaFin. Contrary to the information provided in the legal notice, the website is not operated by the British company Kinetic Private Investment Limited. This is a case of identity theft.
Financial services may only be offered in Germany if the company providing these services has the necessary authorisation from BaFin to do this. However, some companies offer these services without the required authorisation. Information on whether a particular company has been authorised by BaFin can be found in BaFin’s database of companies.
BaFin is issuing this warning on the basis of section 37 (4) of the German Banking Act (Kreditwesengesetz – KWG).
