Erscheinung:23.07.2025 | Topic Consumer protection ada-handelssystem.com: BaFin warns public about dubious job offers

The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) warns the public against accepting remote work positions advertised on the website ada-handelssystem.com.

BaFin warns job seekers against accepting a supposedly lucrative remote work position as a support agent for trading systems (“Support-Mitarbeiter*in (m/w/d) für Handelssysteme - Home Office”) as seemingly advertised by ProMax Consult GmbH of Nuremberg.

The company ProMax Consult GmbH has been removed from the commercial register. It can therefore be assumed that its register details are being used fraudulently.

The job involves the agent receiving payments from third parties in their own local bank account, converting this money into cryptocurrency and conducting trades with it. The funds transferred to the account of the “support agent” likely originate from third parties who have themselves fallen victim to criminals, particularly fraudsters. Providing commercial services for the transfer of funds and/or cryptoassets is subject to authorisation.

BaFin has issued several warnings about this kind of work, which has often been advertised under the guise of an escrow service (“Treuhandservice”).

Information on whether a particular company has been authorised by BaFin can be found in BaFin’s database of companies.

BaFin advises consumers that have been affected by such offers to inform law enforcement agencies, such as the police or public prosecutor’s office.

Please be aware:

BaFin, the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BundeskriminalamtBKA) and the German state criminal police offices (Landeskriminalämter) recommend that consumers seeking to invest money online should exercise the utmost caution and do the necessary research beforehand in order to identify fraud attempts at an early stage.
